How do you remove damaged spark plugs? Here’s how to take out the spark plugs from the engine bay of a Mazda 3. Lift the front bonnet, then remove the engine soundproofing panel. Grasp the coil and twist it to release it from the cylinder head. Use a socket spanner to unscrew each spark plug. Take the new spark plug and insert it into the cylinder head using the socket spanner, connect the leads to each spark plug, then refit the engine soundproofing panel. Start the engine once all spark plugs have been replaced.
