How to Replace the Gear Knob on a Mazda 2?

To replace the gear knob on a Mazda 2, lift the leather gaiter that covers the entire gear lever, located just below the knob. By lifting this gaiter, you can detach the clip that connects it to the knob: this allows you to unscrew the knob from the end of the lever by turning it counterclockwise. Once the old knob is removed, insert the new one by screwing it onto the lever and reconnecting it to the gaiter using the clip. Finally, the gaiter can be secured back into its housing at the base of the gear lever.
