Replacing the Fuel Line on a Car

The following guide provides instructions on how to replace the fuel line on a car. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid sparks while working with flammable liquid. After disconnecting the battery, remove the cap and insert a plastic disc into the filler neck to draw out the fuel. Locate and remove the mounting bolts for the fuel tank filler neck. Remove the mounting screws for the filler neck. Once the filler neck screws are removed, locate and disconnect the electrical connectors for the fuel tank. Next, locate and disconnect the fuel line using a fuel line removal tool.
