The mass air sensor, better known as the air flow meter, plays a fundamental role in the engine's power delivery. It provides real-time information to the engine management unit regarding the mass of air drawn into the engine, based on which the unit injects fuel. It is clear that a malfunction of this sensor can compromise both the performance and fuel consumption of the engine. The sensor is located just at the exit of the engine air filter housing, and to replace it, simply disconnect the connector and unscrew the relevant fastening screws.
