Mazda 6 Driveshaft Replacement

Model: Mazda 6 MK 1, GG - Years 2002-2008

To replace the driveshaft on a Mazda 6, follow these steps: 1) Remove the wheel. 2) Lift the car with jacks. 3) Blocking the wheel with wheel chocks or wheel bolts, remove the central hub bolt with a socket wrench. 4) Disconnect the ABS system. 5) Remove the upper control arm. 6) Gently tap the driveshaft joint to disconnect it from the hub. 7) From the inner side of the driveshaft, gently tap the head to slide it off the small splined shaft it is connected to. 8) Remove the brake caliper. 9) Disconnect the lower control arm from the shock absorber. 10) Slide out the driveshaft. 11) Proceed with the installation of the new driveshaft in reverse order.
