How do you unlock the automatic transmission of the Mercedes E-Class?

To unlock the automatic transmission of the Mercedes E-Class, it will be possible to use an object to pry off the surrounding panel around the gear selector. Once this is removed, a lever at the bottom can be located and pulled to unlock the automatic transmission, allowing the selector to be moved to the N position to put the transmission in neutral. This will allow the car to be taken to the workshop to repair the transmission error and start the vehicle.
