How to maintain the steering of a Mercedes SLK? Is the steering stiff when turning? Replace the power steering oil to resolve the issue and flush the hydraulic system. Start by opening and lifting the bonnet, securing it in place. Insert the suction tube into the power steering oil reservoir; after draining the reservoir of the used oil, fill it with a flushing additive. Once the flushing is complete, suction out the used fluid and top up with new oil. Test the correct operation of the steering with various steering manoeuvres.
