Spark Plug and Ignition Coil Wire Replacement

Model: Mercedes Classe S MK 4, W220 - Years 1999-2005

Open the hood and ensure it is securely supported.
Disconnect and remove the side intake ducts and the plastic engine cover.
Disconnect the connectors from the ignition coils and detach the spark plug boots using the appropriate tool (two boots for each coil); unscrew the mounting screws of the coils and remove them along with the boots.
Then unscrew the old spark plugs (two for each cylinder) and replace them with new ones (do not exceed the torque specification). It is recommended to also replace the wires with the boots: then attach the new boots to the spark plugs ensuring a perfect fit and connect them to the respective coils.
