How to adjust the sliding door of a Mercedes Sprinter

Let's see how to adjust the sliding door of a Mercedes Sprinter W906: we start by removing the plastic tabs located in the rear part of the door compartment; then we remove the lock on the pillar. At the end of the track there are adjustable limit switches that need to be screwed inward to avoid obstructing the movement of the door during adjustment. We move on to adjusting the height of the door, slightly unscrewing the bolts of the sliding carriage to raise or lower the entire door. We look at the lines engraved on the hinge; when they are perfectly aligned with the lines of the vehicle body, the height is correct, the bolts are tightened to 23 Nm. At the back, we loosen the locking nuts and use the screw to raise and lower the rear part of the door, then tighten the locking nut. The goal is for the door to be parallel to the vehicle body along its entire length, so we find the central sliding carriage and loosen its bolts, which will allow us to move the door inward and outward. We tighten the bolts to 23 Nm. To adjust the depth, we need to loosen the lower and upper adjustment screws, located on the front side of the door; we will need to use a gauge to verify that the door is flush with the body panel. Now that the door is adjusted, we reassemble the lock on the pillar, reassemble the guide wedges, and adjust the limit switches. All this adjustment requires a lot of patience, so it is good to make small adjustments and frequently check the result.
