How to replace the gear shift boot and knob on the Mercedes A-Class.

Today we will explain how to replace the gear knob and the gear boot of the Mercedes Class A model W 169. To replace the gear boot, we need to lift the plastic base. To perform this simple operation, we can use a flathead screwdriver, sometimes with a microfiber cloth, or use a removal tool to insert into the corner of the boot to lift it more easily. After lifting the gear boot, we cut the tie wrap located between the boot and the knob. We pull the knob upwards and remove the boot. We insert the new boot at the base of the gear mechanism and secure the new knob by inserting a tie wrap. Finally, we insert the plastic base back into the gear base to complete the replacement.
