How to Replace or Reseal the Oil Pan of a Mercedes C-Class W204

In this video, learn how to replace the oil pan of a Mercedes C-Class W204: you will need a 13 mm wrench, an oil filter socket, sealant, a new gasket, and cleaning tools (scraper, solvent, sandpaper). Lift the car, remove the lower cover, unscrew the oil drain plug, and let the oil drain into a large container (dispose of it at an authorized center); replace the drain plug gasket. Unscrew all the bolts of the lower pan, detach the pan, and insert an M6 screw into the designated hole (on the right side) to help release it, then gently detach it without bending. Remove the old silicone gasket with the scraper and sandpaper, then clean with solvent and dry thoroughly. Apply a thin, uninterrupted strip of sealant, then reattach the pan, tightening the bolts in a crisscross pattern (torque 8/10 lb-ft). Before filling with oil, allow the silicone to cure for at least one hour. Replace the filter and then fill with 8 quarts of Mobil 15W40 oil. Do not use power tools to tighten the pan: they may deform it. After starting the car for about ten minutes, check for leaks.
