How to Replace Engine Oil and Filter in a Mercedes C-Class

To replace the engine oil in a Mercedes C-Class, start the engine for a few minutes to slightly warm the oil, then turn it off and open the hood. Safely lift the vehicle and position a container under the oil pan. Unscrew the drain plug and let the used oil completely drain out. Meanwhile, locate the oil filter, which is on the top of the engine inside a plastic housing. Unscrew the filter cap and remove the filter cartridge. Insert the new filter and also replace the O-ring on the cap, lubricating it with a bit of clean oil. Once the draining is complete, re-screw the oil pan plug and lower the vehicle. Pour new oil from the top cap using the amount specified for the engine. Start the engine for a few seconds, turn it off, and check the level using the dipstick or the display, adding oil if necessary.
