To change the engine oil in a Mercedes C-Class, lift the vehicle to access the components under the hood. Locate the oil drain plug, which must be opened to collect the oil in a properly positioned container.

Next, open the hood to remove the oil filter from the top of the engine block, replacing it with a new one. After the replacement, pour the new oil through the designated fill cap located behind the oil filter.
