Mercedes Classe C - Video tutorial

Model: Mercedes Classe C W202 - Years 1993-2000
Part: Muffler
Operation: How to fix a flat muffler

Over the years and kilometers, rust can create real holes or cracks in the muffler. Since this is built with ferrous materials, it can be repaired with a good welding and the possible addition of some iron â € œtoppaâ €. This is what we see in this video. Since the rust has completely corroded and blocked the bolts, it was necessary to cut them with a hose to disassemble the muffler. With the muffler in hand we can see that the rust has created a hole of about 5x3 cm and a long lesion along the pipe. To obtain a good weld it is important to clean the surface thoroughly, but this is not enough, above all you need experience because getting good welds is not easy. Often the illusion of having made a good weld is created, but this is not the case. However, if you are familiar with the welder it will not be a problem. For injuries it is sufficient to use the welding machine alone, while where holes have been created, it is necessary to apply custom-made patches obtained from a thick iron plate. After welding, remove the excess parts of the welding and if you want to give an even more new aspect to the muffler, polish it completely and paint it with a high temperature paint. Do not neglect to clean the joint area between the muffler and the manifold from rust as well. Once everything has been reassembled, to make sure there are no further leaks, just plug the muffler with your hand and for a few seconds, if you do not hear any vents you have done a good job.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
