How to Replace the Engine Air Filter on a Mercedes C-Class

To replace the engine air filter on a Mercedes C-Class, turn off the engine and open the hood. Locate the air filter box, connected to the intake duct; the position and shape vary slightly depending on the engine type. Remove any ducts that obstruct access, then release the clips or unscrew the screws holding the airbox cover. Lift the top and pull out the old filter element from its housing. Clean the inside of the box, removing dust, leaves, and other debris, being careful not to let them enter the intake. Insert the new filter in the same position, ensuring that the edge fits properly along the entire housing. Close the box, tighten the fasteners, and reattach any ducts previously disconnected, checking that each connection is securely in place.
