How to Replace the Window Switch Panel of a Mercedes M-Class

Model: Mercedes Classe M W163 - Years 1997-2005

Before you start, sit in the driver's seat of your Mercedes M-Class. Begin by lifting the centre armrest to access the lower compartment. Next, unscrew and remove the two screws securing the mini-compartment beneath the armrest, then remove the compartment itself. At this point, remove the gear lever surround by simply unclipping it. Once you complete this step, put the gear lever in neutral, then unclip the centre console to access the window switch panel. Proceed by unscrewing the screws that secure it to the centre panel, then disconnect the relevant connectors. Once you complete this last step, you can remove the window switch panel, and you will have finished the disassembly. To fit the new panel and reassemble everything, simply follow these instructions in reverse, and the replacement will be complete.
