How to Replace the Window Switch Panel on a Mercedes M-Class

Model: Mercedes Classe M W163 - Years 1997-2005

Before you begin, sit in the driver's seat of your Mercedes M-Class. Start by lifting the centre armrest to open the lower compartment. Next, unscrew and remove the two screws that secure the mini-centre compartment located beneath the armrest, then remove the compartment itself. At this point, remove the gear lever surround by simply unclipping it. Once this step is complete, put the gear lever in neutral, then unclip the centre console to access the window switch panel. Proceed to unscrew the screws that secure it to the centre panel, then disconnect the corresponding connectors. Once you have completed this last step, you can remove the window switch panel, and you will have finished the disassembly. To fit the new panel and close everything up, simply reverse these steps, and you will have completed the replacement.
