To replace the brake pedal switch on a Mercedes E-Class, loosen the bolts that secure the cover located under the steering column and above the pedals. This will allow access to all internal instrumentation, including the brake pedal switch. It can be replaced after disconnecting it from the appropriate wires and removing it from its housing. Once the old switch is removed, insert a new one and connect it to the wires, also closing the cover under the steering column.
