Replacing the Brake Pads

Brake pads serve to clamp the brake disc to create friction that slows down the rotation of the disc. Brake pads wear out before the discs, so they need to be changed more frequently. To change the pads, lift the vehicle on a jack and remove the wheels from the axle. Push the piston of the brake cylinder back using a screwdriver. Disassembly should be done on one pair of pads at a time. To remove the caliper and take out the pads, remove the clips and springs. When removing the pads, pay attention to how the components are arranged to ensure everything is correctly positioned during reassembly.
