How to Remove the Ignition Cylinder from the Mercedes Benz W203

This guide shows how to replace the ignition switch on the Mercedes Benz W203. The first step is to remove the top part of the center console of the dashboard to access the two Torx T20 screws that hold the right cover of the steering column in place. Turn counterclockwise to unscrew the lock cylinder. On the left side of the dashboard, remove the headlight switch and unscrew the two Torx screws located underneath. Disconnect the parking brake cable and unscrew the mounting screws for the panel. After removing the plastic panel, disconnect the DataLink electrical cable. At this point, you can pull the ignition lock out of its position and disconnect the control cables.
