Alternator Replacement Instructions

Model: Mercedes Sprinter MK 1, W901 - Years 1995-2006

To remove the alternator, it is easier to access from underneath, so lift the vehicle on a ramp. Disconnect the cables and the connector attached to it, loosen the tensioner of the auxiliary belt to free the alternator pulley, and then proceed to remove the relevant fixing bolts. Once the alternator is removed, you can either overhaul it (spare parts for the overhaul are fairly easy to find) or install a refurbished one. The video shows the replacement of the complete brush plate. Then proceed in reverse for installation.
