Checking Causes of Engine Power Loss

If you notice a loss of power from the engine and feel that the turbocharger is no longer providing boost, the issue could stem from damage to the turbocharger itself or from one of the components in the forced induction system. You will need to check for oil leaks around the turbo, inspect for damage to the vacuum hoses and the associated solenoids that may affect the operation of certain actuators, and finally, carefully inspect the intake hoses: it is likely that you will find a tear preventing the turbo from boosting.
