The application of the turbocharger to diesel engines immediately represented an innovative solution as well as to improve performance above all to increase efficiency. The operating principle, shown in the video, is relatively simple since the device does nothing but exploit the flow of exhaust gases to rotate the blades of a turbine (the particular geometry - twisting - allows you to make the most of this flow) whose axis is then connected to that of a compressor which compresses the air destined for intake, increasing its pressure and consequently its flow rate. The system is then completed by a series of valves (pneumatic or electric) that regulate flow rates and pressures to avoid peaks that could compromise the operation of the engine and the turbine itself.
