To replace the starter motor on a Mercedes A-Class, open the hood and disconnect the battery after removing the plastic cover. Next, remove the plastic cover from the top of the engine block to access the components underneath. Here, you will find the air filter box, which must be disconnected from its connectors and mounting screws so it can be removed. Underneath the box, you will find the starter motor: it must also be freed from screws and connectors to be replaced with a new one.
