How to replace the starter motor of the Mercedes A-Class

Model: Mercedes Classe A W169 - Years 2004-2012
Part: Starter motor

The starter motor of the Mercedes A-Class is located under the air filter box, which is why in case of malfunction we need to remove the filter to replace it. We open the front hood and unscrew the screws on the filter box to remove the housing. Then we start disconnecting the connector and operating cables of the control unit to access the starter motor; once we have access to the motor, we disconnect the connector and unscrew the locking screws. We insert the new starter motor and after connecting the connector, screw in the screws and mount the control unit on it. We mount the air filter box and close the front hood.
