Fuel System Cleaning Instructions

If unusual smoke comes from the exhaust pipe, it is likely that the combustion of the diesel is not optimal due to injector inefficiency, which may have become dirty and therefore cannot properly atomize the fuel (it may also depend on a dirty fuel filter).
Generally, you can add an additive directly to the diesel in the tank, but if you want a more effective result, you can also consider running the engine on just the additive to pass pure additive through the injectors for a more thorough cleaning. To perform this cleaning, disconnect the fuel supply and return hoses, insert the supply hose directly into the additive can, and the return hose into a bottle: once this bypass is set up, start the engine while giving it some throttle (it is also recommended to replace the fuel filter) and let the system purge.
