Engine Air Filter Replacement

Model: Mercedes Slk R170, MK 1 - Years 1997-2004

This tutorial shows how to remove and replace the old engine air filter on a Mercedes SLK. After opening the bonnet, disconnect the two air hoses to access the plastic cover over the engine. Flip the plastic cover to remove the four star screws located at its ends. This opens the two filter slots, which can be replaced with new filters. Position the new filters with their wider side adjacent to the plastic cover. At this point, reassemble everything by reversing the disassembly steps.
