How to Change the Battery in a Mercedes E-Class Remote

If the dashboard of your Mercedes E-Class displays "replace key battery," you know exactly what to do. Here’s how: On the back of the remote, there is a small button. Press it and pull out the physical key. Press the same button again and slide the remote casing back. On the bottom side of the remote, as you are looking at it now, there is a small drawer. Open it with your fingernail and remove the battery, which is a CR2032 that you can get for a few dollars from a convenience store. Replace it, making sure to observe the polarity. Put the drawer back in place, reassemble the casing, and insert the physical key. Job done.
