How to Replace the Rear Shock Absorber on a Mercedes Vito 1

In this video tutorial, you can see how to replace the rear shock absorber on a Mercedes Vito 1 by following a few simple steps: Use a 17mm socket to loosen the wheel bolts before lifting the vehicle. Lift the vehicle with a jack and place safety stands; completely unscrew the wheel bolts and remove the wheel. Use a hydraulic transmission jack to support the rear suspension crossmember. Clean the shock absorber fastening elements with a wire brush and then use WD-40 spray. Use a 21mm socket to tighten the lower fastening element of the shock absorber and then use a crowbar and a ratchet; remove the fastening bolts and dismantle the lower part of the shock absorber using the crowbar. Now lower the hydraulic transmission jack by 10-15 cm. Unscrew the upper fastening element of the shock absorber with a 21mm socket (to avoid accidents, hold the shock absorber firmly when loosening the bolts). Remove the shock absorber; before installation, the shock absorber must be manually bled 3-5 times; place the shock absorber in the wheel arch and secure it. When tightening the bolts, the shock absorber must be held firmly. Reassemble the parts in reverse order.
