Hub Carrier Removal/Replacement

Model: Mercedes Classe M W163 - Years 1997-2005

To remove the hub carrier, first loosen the wheel nuts and then lift the car, always observing safety regulations, to completely remove the wheel. At this point, use a tool to lever the brake caliper away from the disc to separate the pads. It is good practice to spray a specific releasing product on the components beforehand to facilitate disassembly due to the presence of dust and corrosion. Meanwhile, proceed to unscrew the two screws on the inner side to remove the brake caliper, which you will secure to give yourself space to work. Unscrew the Allen screw on the disc and also remove the brake disc. Now unscrew the central nut on the hub and at the back of it, unscrew the ABS sensor with its bracket. At this point, unscrew the upper nut and the one on the steering arm. Extract the driveshaft, unscrew the lower support nut, and you can then remove the hub carrier. Car model: Mercedes Benz W163 M320 Year: 2000
Required tools: large flat screwdriver, socket wrenches of various sizes (21/36mm), 5mm Allen key.
