Instructions for Removing Rear Bumper

Model: Mercedes Classe M W163 - Years 1997-2005

Removing the rear bumper is quite simple: you only need to unscrew four bolts with a 10 mm spanner. To access the fixing bolts, first remove the protective caps on the bumper, two on the sides and one in the centre. Once the caps, which are simply clipped in, are removed, unscrew the bolts underneath, then open the rear boot and detach the bumper from the side supports to complete the removal (there is no need to remove the rear lights, and there are no bolts or screws under the wheel arches).
