This guide shows how to replace the ignition cylinder on a Mercedes Benz 190e. To perform this operation, you need an ignition cylinder extractor or you can create one by adapting a 2 mm thick wire. At this point, remove the finishing ring of the ignition and insert the key, turning it to position 1. Now you can insert the extractor, made to an appropriate length to release the locking spring and the closure lugs of the cylinder. Carefully extract the piece. Clean the recess and check for any damage. Install the new element by following the steps in reverse. Check the proper functioning of the ignition.
