Disassembly and Upholstery of Armrest

Wear of the upholstery leather on the central tunnel armrest is a common issue, especially in older vehicles. You can resolve this by reupholstering the cushion, which is a task you can easily do yourself or by consulting an upholsterer (it is a repair with relatively low costs). To reupholster, you need to disassemble the armrest by opening it and unscrewing the hinge fixing screws. Next, remove the metal pins that secure part of the hinge to the base of the armrest, then detach the underlying reinforcing plastic. Once the cushion is free, peel off the old upholstery and apply the new one by gluing and properly folding the edges. Proceed in reverse for reassembly.
