The engine air filter in your Mercedes E-Class W212 (2009-2016) should be replaced periodically to protect the engine from overheating, which could lead to a loss of power or worse consequences. First, lift the hood completely and locate the filter box under the large central cover.

Next, disconnect the hose connected to it and remove the cover of the box. Finally, take out the filter inside and replace it with a new one.
