Replacement of Front Discs and Pads

Model: Mercedes Gl MK 1, X164 - Years 2006-2012

Lift the vehicle on a ramp and remove the front wheel. Remove the retaining spring of the pads, the caps from the fixing pins of the brake caliper to disassemble it, disconnect the wear sensor connector, and extract the old pads. Next, disassemble the caliper bracket and the fixing screw of the disc to remove it from its location. Clean the disc seating on the hub with a metal brush and apply grease. Then, install the new disc, securing it with the relevant screw and cleaning off any protective oil. Refit the caliper bracket, retract the caliper piston using the appropriate tool, insert the new pads, install the caliper, and then the retaining spring for the pads before refitting the wheel.
