The first step when replacing the brake shoes and cables on a Mercedes 190 model W201 is to remove the rear tyre. To do this, use a drill, then lift the vehicle. Once the wheel is removed, you will be able to unscrew the fastening elements of the brake caliper using pliers and a screwdriver. Carefully remove the return spring from the lower brake shoe. Now you can proceed to attach the element that connects the brake cable to the shoe. Install the lower return spring and tighten the brake caliper elements. Refit the wheel and lower the car from the jack.
