In this video, see what to do if your Mercedes dashboard displays the alarming message "Visit workshop without changing gear". Error codes will be read with an electronic scanner, indicating what has happened. In most cases, the issue originates from a component that controls the selected gear. Therefore, selecting drive, reverse, or neutral does not engage the transmission through mechanical movement, but through electronic impulses. If the part shown by our YouTuber fails, the message appears on the dashboard: it can no longer shift gears. In this case, the transmission has been completely removed, but the component can be taken out from under the engine without dismantling everything. It can either be replaced (and in this case, it will need to be programmed for your vehicle with the chassis number) or refurbished, which is much simpler and more economical.
