What to do when the passenger airbag symbol appears on the dashboard of our Mercedes? Very often this symbol is mistaken for an error symbol, when in reality it is a simple warning that the passenger airbag is active or not. When no one is sitting in the passenger seat, the message "passenger airbag deactivated" appears. This also happens if a child seat is installed, which does not reach the weight of an adult, who could therefore benefit from the airbag. If someone sits in the seat, then the car has detected the passenger, and therefore the airbag on that side also activates.
