Replacing the oil filter in a Mercedes W124 is a straightforward task. First, open the hood and unscrew the cap of the oil reservoir to remove the dipstick and check the oil level. Then, unscrew the cap of the filter housing using a 13mm socket and remove the oil container. Next, lift the vehicle and drain the oil from the oil pan by unscrewing it with a 12mm wrench. After draining the oil, close the oil pan and lower the vehicle. Install a new filter element in the filter housing and close everything up as shown in the video.
