Engine Oil Filter Replacement

Changing the oil is one of the most important maintenance tasks to keep the engine running efficiently: in addition to choosing a good quality oil, it is recommended to replace the filter with every oil change (many mechanics suggest alternating its replacement with the oil change, but given the low cost and ease of replacement, it's better to change it every time). The oil filter is of the cartridge type: first, unscrew the cap of the filter housing, remove the old filter, insert the new filter, and replace the series of o-ring seals on the cap before screwing it back on; then, drain the oil through the designated plug under the oil pan, screw it back on after draining, replacing the copper washer, and fill the engine with clean oil until reaching the proper level.
