To replace the battery of a Mercedes S-Class key, start by locating the small button or lever on the key fob. Press it or lift the lever to remove the metal key. Use a flathead screwdriver or similar tool to carefully open the key fob. Once opened, locate the position of the battery inside the key fob. Carefully remove the exhausted battery using a small screwdriver or similar tool to pop it out. Make sure to remember the orientation of the battery. Take a new battery of the correct type and insert it into the same slot, making sure it is inserted correctly. Close the key fob carefully, being careful not to damage the internal components. Ensure that the key fob is securely closed before reinserting the metal key. Test the key to make sure it functions properly, using the lock and unlock buttons to verify the vehicle's response.
