How to disconnect the airbag in the Mercedes E-Class

Today, you will learn how to remove the driver-side airbag in the Mercedes E-Class. To perform the removal, get inside the vehicle and rotate the steering wheel 180 degrees to insert a screwdriver into the side holes to open the central part of the steering wheel and disconnect the airbag connector.

After that, remove the assembly and also the steering wheel if necessary by unscrewing the central nut with a Torx wrench. Before disconnecting the airbag, it is advisable to disconnect the battery to prevent the system from activating during removal and causing injury or damage.
