Replace Oil and Filter on a Mini

Model: Mini Mini R56, R55, R57 - Years 2007-2014

Remove the engine oil filter on a Mini. Follow this guide to proceed with the replacement: open the car's door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the front bonnet and secure it. Using a socket spanner, undo the large securing bolt of the container cap where the oil filter is located. Extract the worn oil filter, unscrew the drain plug of the oil sump with the appropriate spanner (let the used oil drain into a container for disposal) and then refit it. Install a new filter in the container, ensuring it adheres well around the walls. Finally, top up the engine with new oil. Close the front bonnet.
