Changing the engine oil is necessary when the red oil light appears after the service interval. Along with the oil, you must also replace the filter.

Today, we will see how to proceed on a Mini One. First, open the bonnet and unscrew the oil filler cap to facilitate the oil draining from the sump. Next, lift the vehicle using axle stands.

Once the car is raised and secure, unscrew the bolts of the sump plug and let the old oil drain into a container. When all the oil has drained, replace the sump plug.

To remove the filter, unscrew its cap with a spanner and take it out, clean the housing, and insert a new filter. Once the car is back on the ground, pour the new oil into the reservoir.
