In this tutorial, we can see how to replace the engine oil filter in the Mini Cooper R56, an operation that requires changing the oil itself. First of all, we wait for the engine to cool down sufficiently, then we go under the vehicle, locate the drain plug, and unscrew it using an 8mm hex key. We then drain all the oil from the system, reinsert the plug, and move to the engine compartment, where we temporarily move the expansion tank to access the filter housing. Once we open the housing with a 27mm wrench, we can insert both the replacement filter and the new oil through the designated hole.
