How do you replace the battery in a Mini remote key? Here’s how to carry out the replacement: take your ignition key and use a screwdriver to pry between the two plastic halves until they separate halfway; remove the flat battery inside the casing and get a new one (same size and voltage).

Reassemble the two parts of the remote key cover until you hear them click into place.

Check the remote key’s functionality by testing the lock and unlock buttons.
