When the engine light comes on in a Mini Cooper and it starts to run poorly, shaking or running on three cylinders, the most common cause is an ignition system problem. To identify the faulty cylinder, the mechanic in the video disconnects one connector at a time, and when reaching number 3, the engine does not worsen, indicating that this cylinder was already not functioning.

The issue is a faulty ignition coil. In these models, moisture and condensation damage the contacts inside the coil, increasing resistance and causing failure.

The mechanic recommends replacing all four spark plugs, in addition to the damaged coil, as a precaution since everything needs to be disassembled. After a job lasting a couple of hours, the Mini runs perfectly again.

How to Reset the EDC Light on a Mercedes Sprinter?

When the EDC light appears on the instrument cluster of a Mercedes Sprinter, it indicates a generic malfunction in the vehicle's injection system. To identify the source of the problem, a diagnosis must be performed at a workshop. This will help identify the damaged component, which will need to be replaced or repaired. Once the issue has been physically addressed, connect a diagnostic tool to the vehicle's OBD port located under the steering column. This will allow you to clear the errors in the ECU, turning off the EDC light.
