How to replace the battery in a Mini 2012? First, open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the bonnet, disengaging the locking lever with your fingers, and secure it. You will find the battery cover at the top left; remove the cover and unscrew the battery terminal securing pins, then take the battery out of the engine compartment. Install a new battery in the housing along with the electrical terminals and the cover.
