With a plastic lever, lever the base of the gearbox by slowly lifting, a small part at a time, the lower frame of the same. Make sure the headphones are not yet stuck. At this point you just need to pull with a little force, and twisting slightly, to literally detach the knob together with the cap. Unscrew the always visible part of the knob. Turn the whole thing upside down like a sock, and with the help of a screwdriver remove the knob pin from the cap. Insert the new pin, straighten the boot + knob assembly and screw the new upper part of the latter.

How to Replace the Door Panels on an Audi A3

First, open the door in question.
