How to Change the Thermostat on the Mini Cooper R50 (2001)

In this video, we will discover the procedure to remove and replace the thermostat on the first series Mini Cooper R50. First, drain the coolant; to do this, disconnect the hose found under the vehicle. Next, open the bonnet and remove the battery and battery tray by unscrewing the screws and taking out the side control unit; now disconnect the electrical connector from the thermostat and unscrew its screws to remove it, as shown in the video. Finally, replace it with the new one!
